Artbiz (that’s me Kim Bruce) has taken WordPress; the most popular open source content management system and blogging platform – in the world, and put my spin on. This provides artists with an easy platform to create an online presence.
Like you I am a visual problem solver, because, I am an artist myself. I know that artists learn more with images than with words. If you’re anything like me you take words and paint a picture with them.
So armed with an image based online manual at the WordPress for Artists School; and my ongoing support, artists will have a website / blog that they manage themselves without having to know code.
This is what I do.
Prior to starting Artbiz in 2004, I owned an interior design firm in Calgary for 17 years. I sold the business in 2000 to pursue my fine art full time. Around 2002, realizing that I needed a website, I went about obtaining an education in web design. It wasn’t a big stretch for me as I have a solid foundation in design and used AutoCAD (automatic computer aided drafting) software for years in my interior design business.
Today I split my time between my studio practice and Artbiz, and have successfully completed projects for artists all over the world. My fine art has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is also included The Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
