“The forgotten of this world are my inspiration. For me, the process of creating emerges from a reverence for all animate and inanimate beings, especially for society’s misfits and rejects. I practice visual democracy: I believe that everything has a place and a purpose, and my works create a home for items that have lost their way.”
Ayseef

We created a customized site using the Side Rotator theme and manipulated the graphics from her existing site to suit. We also used a special font for the site name and page titles from Font Squirrel

Please visit Ayseef’s website and make sure you read some of her poetry while you are there. Ayseef recently created a Facebook page if you want to give her the thumbs up.

Over the past few months I have been working on all the artist (themes) templates. Upgrading the code and adding more functionality. The next generation of the artist themes are based on WordPress’s default theme “twentyten”. This probably means little to you as an artist but what it does is provide you with a state of the art WordPress theme that includes all the functionality that WordPress has to offer with rock solid coding.

Artbiz has taken this rock solid coding and created artist themes that function as a website first and a blog second. So when people arrive at your site they see a clean and elegant layout that features your art in the best possible light. Then if you chose and only if you chose, a full blown WordPress blog can be accessed with a simple menu link.

For those who want to use the themes as blog first and website second – we can do that too!

The new artist themes have:

larger gallery thumbnails

larger album thumbnails

ability to integrate a slideshow

change the header images and background colours

ability to add (or not) that neat row of tiny thumbs on ALL themes

ability to add (or not) social networking links like Facebook and Twitter

full blown blog features

more *widget areas – 7 in total

separate footers for pages (website) and posts (blog)

4 widget areas in the post (blog) footer

two page (website) templates, one with a sidebar and the other full width

wider pages and posts

new preview site

There’s more but “picture’s worth a 1000 words” so please have a look at the live previews

*widgets are areas of your site where you can drag and drop items like a slideshow, calendar, menus, custom text, social networking icons amoung others. The live previews indicate where these areas are.
