Nicole LeBoutillier’s work focuses on the spaces in between things, just as the pauses in a conversation are as revealing as the words, the negative space in her pieces describe and define the main subject.

Whether Nicole is working on a drawing, a painting or a print it is an additive and reductive process simultaneously working together and against each other. Series of work emerge, gathered around a main theme as she returns to her subject over and over looking for alternatives and possibilities.

I love working with images of the artists work to create graphics for the sites. For Nicole Nicole Leboutillier I used a section from one of her drawings to create the header image. Thus making the total look of the site uniquely hers.

Peter Colbert

Peter had a concept in mind for his site and being a graphic designer as well as an artist he sent me a Photoshop layout for his site.  What Artbiz did was to translate his concept into a website.

The first site I created for Allyson back in 07 was a total Flash site which was great at the time, had some really cool movement and stuff. But alas times change and art management’s a whole new ball game with the internet and all.

Virginia Boulay

Seems my post To Blog but not be a Blogger is working. Like me Virginia likes the idea of using a blog to discuss her work. We got rid of the static HTML site and created a whole new site for her using WordPress.  The website showcase’s her work using the CMS (content management system) component first and then utilizing WordPress’s strong blogging features created what we call “Discussions” rather than blog.  (Did the same for Peter Colbert above but stayed with the term”Blog”)

Melanie Pope approached me at the end June and we had her site up by the beginning of July. She found me through Eleanor Lowden-Pidgeon’s site and said hey I know her. Melanie works at the Leighton Center of which I am a member – small world. Visit Melanie’s site at melaniepope.ca

Shona Rae wanted her site up before the annual Eastside Studio Crawl in September. Shona has her studio at Burns Visual Arts Society which coordinates the Studio Crawl. She also is a partner at Influx Studio at Art Central.  Visit Shona’s site at shonarae.com

Michelle wanted a site similar to Sheila Norgate’s but without the added expense of a total custom site. What we did was take the template “Right Side” and customized it for her. Michelle found Artbiz through Sheila’s site and even has one of Sheila’s pieces. Artists supporting artists – yeah. Visit Michelle’s site at michellehenderson-topp.ca

We did Michele’s first site back in 2007. It was a Flash and HTML based site and very nice. Since then Artbiz has gotten into the content management sites where you can maintain your own site and Michele wanted to do that. So we customized “Clayside” and added a blog for her as well. Patt Scrivener took advantage of Artbiz’s Website by Donation program. Where I install WordPress and the plugins for her and she added all her own content with the Manual and Videos as reference. I think she did a great job. Visit Patt’s site at pattscrivener.com
