Using WordPress as an Artist
First Concepts
Artists are visual people, for us an image goes a long way to present concepts in a way that we get it. Through my own process of learning WordPress for use on this site and my own fine art site I found that tutorials that used images were easier to follow. Images are like road maps with everything laid out as it actually exists in the real world (or the virtually world as the case may be).
In this series of tutorials on WordPress for Artists I am going to show you how to use WordPress with a whole bunch of images and videos.
Please note that the images, videos and written instructions are geared toward installations of WordPress for Artbiz clients. But even if you aren’t an Artbiz client these lessons will help you work with WordPress.
The Great Things About WordPress for Artists specific needs:
- It’s easy to learn
- It’s stable and relatively bug free
- It’s used by millions of people around the globe
- You can use it as a website only, without a blog.
- You can brand your website and blog to look the same and manage both in one place.
- You don’t have to have any knowledge of html, css and php to use WordPress to manage your content.
As you learn more about WordPress you’ll learn a lot about what it can and can’t do (which isn’t much).

Thanks, Kim. I switch over to one of the new themes. I got the blog on the menu and I even figured out how to get the categories and archives showing. I’m learning. Thanks, your tutorials are great.
