I’ve been thinking about doing a site but am uncertain about how the domain name and hosting works. Can you tell me what is the difference?

A domain name is the address that you type into your browser in order to go to a website. For example joe.com. You can have a domain name with out hosting but you can not have hosting with out a domain name.
